Spirtual songs of MJ…

I AM A BIG MICHAEL JACKSON FAN! If Jesus comes back I would love for him to bring back MLK and MJ as well! That is one side of the fanatic aspect of “This Imperfect Christian” (LOL). Today would have been his 53rd birthday. :>'(

I wanna highlight three of his songs with a spiritual feeling to it. A lot of folks unfortunately don’t know of a lot of spirtual feeling some of his most heartfelt songs had. Of course everyone knows about “Man In The Mirror”. The best performance of this song is the one he did at the 1988 Grammy Awards!!

Another one folks aren’t aware of and honestly should be is an underrated song called “Keep The Faith” off the Dangerous CD that is a song about perservance, believing in yourself and hanging in there. We could stand to hear this song a little more often right along with “Man In The Mirror” in this day and age with soo much negativity going on in our lives!

Another underrated song I will always remember because of sadly the day I discovered it the evening of June 25, 2009 driving home from work is this one that just like “Keep The Faith” was never released as a single. “Someone Put Your Hand Out” is a beautiful and heartfelt song for genuine love from someone. A lot of what is needed in this day and age is genuine love towards our fellow man.

It’s not really a spiritual song but sometimes it helps to take a step back from the crazy world and think about life through the eyes “With a Child’s Heart”…

MAN I MISS HIM SOO MUCH!! RIP MJ

Pint size preacher is an internet sensation…

Scripture says the following:

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Well no truer words have been said than 4 year old Kanon Tipton and his getting his preaching on. I hope he keeps that passion and spirit (albeit he is mimicking at this time) for The Lord throughout his life in whatever path he (not his preacher dad or preacher grandad) chooses! I oddly can’t help but to think of the late comedian Sam Kinison and he grew up in an evangelic household and left the church after being disillusioned by it. His comedy schtick of screaming and sounding like a preacher came from his background. So I hope this young kid keeps his passion for ministering if that is what he chooses. It is surprising yet good at the same time to see a child excited for The Lord!! I wish him well in whatever he decides to do in life!

This is the Today Show interview of him.

This is Kanon in action and to be featured on a National Geographic special on him.

Murder-Suicides of Late…

I have been reading three stories that speak of these trying times. People represented from three different family aspects in life and the result ends with a murder or murder-suicide. Sadly one of the stores I read in this matter impacted a Facebook friend’s cousin of hers in Ohio who shot his wife (in front of his child who had to call 911 and say that). They were dealing with a bitter divorce. Another story was a man in Baltimore, MD that shot up his family and himself . Yet another story I read involved a single mom who was a psychiatrists in suburbuan DC (Montogomery County, MD) raising an autistic son, battling Montgomery County school on the schooling of her son and was having a hard time dealing with it, along with her financial struggles and shot herself and her son .

Our society and it’s trials and tribulations are getting to people in the worse kind of way. I don’t know what I or anyone else can do to reach out to someone at their wits end in life to take that dramatic finality to it all. If I ever did suspect someting out of the ordinary on someone online or someone in person of behavior I found disturbing and/or they are talking suicidal thoughts I pray God supplies me with the heart to help me find the words to reach out to them. I don’t want preach a Sunday sermon to them. That isn’t going to solve anything! I just want to reach out the best way I can to offer some kind of voice of reason and encouraging words to stop them from something there is no turning back from!

I went into Bible Gateway and put in the word encouragement to see what scripture I could find to tie in with my thoughts. As an Imperfect Christian I am familiar with some scripture but I am not a bibleologist BY NO MEANS!! But I happen to have come across this great scripture to fit well with what I hope I can do.

Romans 12:8
New International Version (NIV)

8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[a] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Greetings Imperfect Christians!

Well I always thought about it and I stopped thinking and started doing. This is actually my second blog I have done in my over 2 years thru the wonderful WordPress!  This one is a little less radical than my sometimes explicitly pouty mouth other blog which is about current events and my random thoughts on things. I have just given a parental advisory if you dare to venture forth to the other blog (LOL)! But some of my things I discuss of current issues that I talk about on my other blog will more than likely find their way on this blog but I will talk about it from a more spiritual and personal side (without the explicit language-LOL)!!

This one is more spiritual and my faith and belief in God and Jesus.  I am not by no means saying that I am that good a Christian just yet (LOL).  But I try to live right as best as I can and do good for myself, my family and others.

I will start out this blog with one of my favorite scriptures that helps me keep going even when I have my doubts on things…

Philippians 4:13

New King James Version (NKJV)

13 I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.
